Tori Gaunson

Provisional Psychologist Intern


Tori is a registered provisional psychologist currently completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Monash University. She has experience working with adults facing a variety of mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, stress, grief, and sleep difficulties. Tori also has experience addressing psychological challenges in the context of medical conditions, such as adjustment to diagnosis and chronic pain management. Tori’s PhD research focuses on understanding the relationships between pubertal development, social stress and mental health among LGBTQIA+ youth. 

Tori takes a warm, collaborative and non-judgemental approach in creating a safe and compassionate therapeutic environment. She recognises the contribution of sociocultural factors and individual differences in shaping mental health experiences. Tori can flexibly implement evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to best meet each client’s individual needs and goals.
