Melissa Dunning


We welcome Melissa who will be joining the practice in August 2020. Appointments are available to be booked now.

Melissa is a registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar who holds a Master of Clinical Psychology. Throughout her career Melissa has been dedicated to improving the wellbeing of parents and children. She has worked with infants, children, adults and families in various settings, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Tweddle Child and Family Health Services, and now in private practice.

 Melissa has an interest in supporting her clients through life transitions, particularly mothers and fathers as they adjust to the challenges of parenting. Melissa has experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship problems, parent-infant attachment, and child behavioural difficulties. She uses a range of evidence based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness techniques. Melissa is a warm, empathetic and supportive clinician who enjoys working collaboratively with clients to meet their individual needs and goals.
