Dr Marie Henshaw
clinical & Forensic Psychologist
Marie is a welcoming, kind and compassionate Clinical and Forensic Psychologist who has a range of experience working across inpatient and community settings within both clinical and forensic mental health services. She has experience working with adults with depression, anxiety, adjustment problems, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, emotion regulation issues, and difficulties managing problematic thoughts and behaviours. She also works with clients who have difficulties with self-esteem, assertiveness, perfectionism, anger, grief and loss, and stress management.
Marie’s therapeutic approach draws on a range of evidence-based therapies and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. She approaches her work with clients in a curious, empathic and sensitive manner and collaborates with clients to build a shared understanding of their circumstances and personal goals, and to work towards meaningful change and growth. Marie values equality and inclusiveness, and welcomes working with adults of diverse sexualities, genders and cultural backgrounds. She is committed to helping clients from all walks of life harness their strengths and develop new skills to both address their difficulties and lead meaningful and fulfilled lives.
