Provisional Psychologist Intern

We welcome Anna who will be commencing an internship at Valley Family Health in January 2021. Interns provide low cost psychology services as part of their postgraduate professional training. See our FAQs page or call us for more information about this program.

Anna is a provisional psychologist completing a PhD in Clinical Psychology with Monash University. Anna has experience assessing and treating children, adolescents and adults facing a range of different mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, school refusal, stress, oppositional behaviour and family conflict. Anna also has experience working with parents and families in support of their young person, equipping them with evidence-based strategies to improve parent-child relationships and family functioning. 

Anna takes a warm, empathetic and collaborative approach to assessment and therapy and believes in empowering clients and families to draw on their inherent strengths to improve wellbeing and overcome challenges. She acknowledges the immense courage it takes to be vulnerable and open about difficult emotions, events or relationships and provides a non-judgemental, safe space to explore these.

Anna is passionate about building treatment plans which are tailored to the needs of the individual and based on current best-practice, working flexibly from a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
